About Zachary

I moved to Pittsfield because I was trying to build something better for myself. I was going to night school through my union, working toward a real career after years of low-wage jobs that didn’t offer a future. What I found here is a community that strikes a balance between being a quiet, simple place to live but still letting me stay connected to the rest of the region. But I also see clearly where we’re falling short. Too many empty buildings, not enough opportunity, and too many young people leaving because they don’t see a path to stay.

Becoming an electrician through the union changed my life. It gave me skills, stability, and a sense of purpose. But even in this field, I see the challenges facing our region. There isn’t enough local investment, and the mill jobs that sustained our communities aren’t what they used to be. We’ve historically seen how large projects can bring real opportunity, and I believe we need more of that kind of forward-looking investment— all types of energy projects, infrastructure, and support for small businesses—to bring life back into rural Maine and give working people a fair shot.

I’m running because I don’t think the people currently in power are fighting for folks like us. Rural and working-class Mainers have been overlooked while wealth and influence concentrate at the top. I’m not a career politician; I’m someone who’s lived the reality of trying to find a path, trying to build a life, and trying to stay in a place I care about. I value honesty, hard work, and straightforward communication, and I’m not afraid to speak up for people who feel they’ve been ignored.

  • I've had many other jobs but they were all low wage, entry level jobs I couldn't build a career or raise a family on. The opportunity afforded to me by the union and the apprenticeship changed my life.

  • I value honesty, direct communication, and the determination to work for what you want. What motivates me is my desire for a family, and to become a leader and source of strength for my family, friends, and community.

  • College wasn't for me. I needed a different path to success and found it. I want to make sure everyone can find their own path to success.

What Matters Most

Economic Development
& Local Jobs

I see empty buildings on Main Street and not enough opportunity for people who already live here. We need real economic development—supporting small businesses, attracting investment, and creating jobs that allow people to stay, work, and raise families in our communities.

Energy
& Infrastructure

I’ve seen firsthand how large-scale projects can create jobs and bring new life to an area. We should be expanding all types of power generation as a way to create good-paying jobs and strengthen rural economies.

Investment in Rural Maine

Rural and working-class communities have been overlooked for too long. I’m running to push for investment where it’s needed most—so places like ours aren’t left behind while wealth and opportunity concentrate elsewhere.

Support for Working People

I know what it’s like to work low-wage jobs without a path forward. The union gave me that opportunity, and I want to make sure more people have access to careers that provide stability, dignity, and a future.

Breaking Partisan Gridlock

Partisan politics aren’t working for everyday people. I want to focus on practical solutions that actually help working families, instead of the kind of politics that divide people and get nothing done.

Restoring Trust in Government

Too many people feel ignored, exploited, or disillusioned with government. I want to be a voice for those people—showing up, listening, and making sure government is working for the majority, not just the powerful.
